I've been struggling with my weight for a long time. As you know, I'm trying to do something about that and one of the main things I'm doing is changing what I put in my mouth. I'm guilty of reaching for the wrong snacks in my pantry and fridge because they're convenient.
When I'm chasing two toddler's around the house it is a lot easier to reach for a bag of chips, a cookie or a candy bar than it is to chop up some veggies or cut up a piece of fruit. I don't even eat Pop Tarts anymore because they take too long to heat up!
Then I discovered Smartfood Popcorn Clusters! They come in 1 oz servings and their stats are awesome. My favorite is the Honey Multigrain and it only has 110 calories and 1 gram of fat. They all have 5 grams of fiber and we all need more fiber to keep things moving right along. It's like a grown up version of carmel corn from when we were kids. And speaking of the kids...I wouldn't feel bad letting them have a bag because there aren't any preservatives.
My husband's favorite is the Cranberry Almond. This choice has 120 calories and 2 grams of fat...still really good compared to the snacks I normally put in his lunch pail. He liked the tang of the cranberry against the sweetness of the coating. Another bonus, only 75 mg of sodium which is great because he has high blood pressure and we try to keep that to a minimum.
Now....if you are looking for a sweet treat and you don't want to waste your calories on a couple of cookies (and I know I can't just eat a couple), you are going to love the Chocolate Cookie Carmel Pecan. Also coming in at 120 calories and 2 grams of fat, this is the perfect dessert snack that won't ruin your diet.
I went through my pantry and looked at the stats of some of our favorite snacks, both salty and sweet and I was appalled. The amount of fat and sodium in some of them was shocking and made me realize that I could be making much better choices. Smartfood is the snack for women who want to indulge without feeling guilty. These would have been so great when I was employed and had to scavenge to find something healthy from the vending machines. I already feel Smarter...knowing that I'm eating a healthy snack. I can't wait to throw a couple of these in the diaper bag so that I have something to snack on when I'm tempted to run through the McDonald's drive thru.
The folks from Smartfood want to give one of my lucky readers a $100 Visa Gift Card!

Ya know, I haven't had a girls' night in FOREVER!
My friend and I used to get movies, funny ones and eat popcorn and gossip! Come to think of it, that sounds pretty good, right now! It's been at least 4 years since I've done that!

Very cool giveaway! :) and the smartfood treats look great! :)
Have a fabulous day! :)
Very cool!!!! We celebrate girls night in by doing craft projects- we have made little girls' aprons, jeans and flip flops before. it is tons of fun and we get great ideas from each other!
Thanks for the give away!

ooooh! (I went right over the button... duh.)
Girls' Night In is when I host bunco at my house. At all other buncos, it seems we're over and done around 10:00. Mine goes until 1:00 or so...
Btw-I love the chocolate pecan, but I eat 2 bags because it's so good... probably defeating the low-cal purpose.
My friends and I make Cosmopolitans and watch movies!
Girls night is best with a chick flick, freshly popped popcorn (not microwaved), a comfy couch, a friend or 2 and a diet coke. A side of chocolate always adds a nice touch ;0)

Girls night in is all about CHOCOLATE and chick flicks! :)
Very cool review and fabulous giveaway! I didn't know you did these reviews!!!
Let's see...girl's night in with my friends would involve maragaritas, lots of different dips (we all love dips!), chick flicks, and non-stop talking! Before we have too many margaritas it would probably involve some crafting of some sort. Oh! And Chocolate!!! :-)
Girls night frequently includes crafty goodness like SCRAPBOOKING! And bitching about the men in our lives ... or lack thereof. (yeah, we're never happy)
Girls night in = movie, wine and gossip!
Hi Connie! I had a fabulous Girls Night In on Friday night with one of my oldest and dearest friends. We invented a spectacular martini to celebrate the evening and had silly reality shows playing in the background while we talked late into the night. The latter part of the night was spent reminiscing with our favorite early 90's tunes on our I-Pods! I wish she could come in town more often!
I know this sounds sad but I don't know any girls to have a girls night in with. I have some friends here and there but we mainly chat on fb or by email. Woe is me!
If if did have a girl night in, I would have a pitcher of Margaritas and play games or something maybe. :0)
These are yummy! I had two boxes of them and apparently the nanny likes it too!!
I would be sure to have margaritas and chips with salsa... be nice to have some right now actually!
Mine usually include lots of booze and food, and of course good times and gossip.
Off to tweet about it for you!
The perfect Girls night includes a wonderful selection of classic romantic comedies with Cary Grant, or Doris Day; A large pitcher of iced tea; plenty of ice, a small dish of fresh mint & lemon slices available; lots of yummy microwave popcorn; a large bowl of my homemade trail mix that includes peanuts, raisins, mixed nuts, sunflower seed, dried cranberries, semi sweet chocolate chips and M&Ms; and a fresh batch of my wholegrain chocolate chip oatmeal cookies.....& fresh coffee too
Girls' Night In...watching the original South Pacific, needing lots of kleenex. Long Island Iced teas and lots of chocolate! ladyhihtower@live.com

Girls night in usually consists of several cocktails, and yummy food! I like to pick a theme, i.e. Italian, and have all the drinks and food fit the theme. then we usually end up chatting the night away! :)
I twittered! Yay for multiple entries!!!

We celebrate girls' night in with games, snacks, and generally just let things happen as they will (there's usually very little advance planning). But sometimes we'll get together to bake, which is an adventure with a crowd in the kitchen, and even more so when we have to make enough for everyone!
I confess, though... a lot of my "girls' nights" consist of the "girls" from my neighborhood coming over for a visit - a crowd between the ages of 11 and 19!
Girls night in: chocolate ice cream, chick flicks, and staying up waaaaaaaay too late!
slwilkins05@yahoo.com
What a generous give away!!! Connie, my girls night in always have a signature cocktail and yummy eats. The last one I hosted, we had a Vodka drink, steamed mussels and broiled scallops. We gossiped, drank and ate all night!!
We have MNO (moms night out) every month with my mom's club. This week, we had moms night in at one of the members' houses. We had Sangria and appetizers and chatted outside on her balcony. It was a great time, except that it made me a little mad that her house was so spotless :)
Girls' night in is definitely wine - Chardonnay and Skyping with my peeps.
Thanks for the opportunity!

I just read about a cool Girls Night In that I want to try--an accessories swap. I love it that there's no worry about sizes! We usually have good music, blender drinks and gossip.
Ice Cream and Chocolate! Yum!
"activity-centered" (games, spa treatments, dvd/tv show, crafts) and "food-centered" and the overlapping "booze-centered" & "yak-fest":
They're all good.
Snacks get the conversation flowing.... and That snack sounds absolutely yummy... perfect for a girls' night in!

A great girls night in would be me and my closest buds hanging out with some snacks, wine, and a few great chick flicks! at home facials, some at home mani pedi action and a ton of great stories!
The perfect Girls' Night In always has an array of tasty-healthy food and a good bottle of wine. We like to gather around and play a few board games or tennis on the Wii.
We watch movies, talk, and eat pizza and ice cream!
sphinxcw at aol dot com
We definitely eat popcorn and ice cream and either play games or rent a movie!
Amber

I love having potluck style girls night in, everyone brings a snack or dessert, someone brings a movie or game, everyone brings a bottle of wine!
We don't get a lot of opportunities for girls night in, but when they do arise, it's sitting around and talking...uninterrupted. That's enough for us.
I'll this girls night in stuff has me craving sweet sweet popcorn and my girls.
Of course we would celebrate it with watching Dirty Dancing for the hundredth time.
NOBODY PUTS BABY IN THE CORNER.

Girls night in is a fun film and some yogurt, unless I want to be a glutton - then its pizza.
Girls night in consists of pizza, popcorn, gossip, wine, cheesy chick flicks and ice cream to top it off.
we start with wine and snacks watching the newest "chick flick" and end up playing the Wii Karoke ,cracking up at each other and ordering a pizza in the early morning hours :)
Girls' night in for me and my friends was always pizza and pedicures!

Girls Night In usually revolves around some sort of great non-cartoon or kid movie, great food either ordered in or we have made and shared, lots of talking before and after, and the opportunity to just be together and support each other.
Girls night in for me is when 1 or both of my daughters come over to watch a movie or Tv (Like our current favorite "So You Think You Can Dance") We make popcorn and have a great time.
I blogged: http://fibrofoggy.blogspot.com/2009/06/blogher-reviewers-try-smartfood-and.html

We celebrate with a whole girls weekend away in the mountains! We "say" that we're going to scrapbook nonstop for 4 days, but in reality, we talk, eat, scrapbook, snack, go to the beach, get pedicures, (no manicures, those would give away that we didn't spend ALL our waking time scrapping!), hike, sit in the sun, and enjoy each other's company. We often end up praying for one or another of our group who is down or ill, and end up having a wonderful, very fulfilling weekend of girlfriendship. :) It doesn't get any better!

How I celebrate a Girls Night In is mix up some margaritas, or open a couple bottles of wine, turn on the music, order some take out and talk the night away.
Girls nights in depend on the season...fall and winter it's usually SEC football; summer maybe a trip to get local super-yummy ice cream (well I guess that's not "in" but we'd take it back home); wine is always welcome and the kids are usually close at hand so these nights are few and far between!
Wine, wine, laughter, love, talk, food that is bad for you, and lots of fun!! What could be better!!
Well I haven't had a girls night out in a long time other than my mom and I. She is my best friend and we normally just sit around and watch TV.

My typical girls night in usually means some type of "creative" cooking my friends and we love to experiment with new foods and flavors but the kids and husbands are not always so willing so that is perfect for just the girls. Then we gossip, catch up, and enjoy the meal. Then it is time for a "chick" flick with some popcorn and something sweet that we have made earlier too.

Sometimes all the girls get together and make stuff for charity. We have made home-made dog bones, donated garage sales items with the items already priced, made food for a bake sale and made jewelry. Its fun to get together and make a difference in our community.
I celebrate girl's night in with a Jane Austen movie and nachos! I blogged about it also.

Stopping by from SITS.
I love having Girls Night In. My favorite thing to do is have yummy food, a little wine and lots of laughing. Maybe even a good chick flick!!
How did I almost miss putting my name in the hat for this? Shameful.
Girls Night In? What in the world is that? I'd love to celebrate one someday.
Can I be totally boring and say chatting all night?
We buy a gallon (or two) of strawberry maragrita mix and watch movies from our childhood while making fun of our husbands and kids.
Ahhhh to have a girls night in would be a refreshing change from all the boys in my house! It has been a looooooong time so I will tell you what I would do when I plan a Girl's night in!
I made up a delish drink called the Midnight Eye Opener which involves vanilla soy milk, iced coffee and kahlua - perfect for an all nighter!
Chick Flicks are mandatory - Anything by John Hughes works for me!
I'd do a theme party like 80's attire and hair and play 80's trivia for fun girly prizes!
We'd probably break out the Wii and play drunken Mario Kart or something, lol
The ideas are really endless!
For my most recent girls night, my best friend and I decided to be crafty!
We are not crafty at all, so I'm not sure how we even thought of doing this. We somehow managed to make Ribbon boards for my college dorm room and they turned out great!
Not only did I save a ton of money, but mine is original and I had a great time making it with my best friend.
My mom and I make fondue and watch chick flicks-most recently "He's Just Not That Into You". Very cute-thanks!

It's a great time to try that avacado/olive oil face mask without scaring anyone.
